Our Story

My name is Laura, and I’m the owner/operator of 16th Street Cookies.

I started this home-based business in 2018 after seeing beautiful cookie photos online. The inspiration took over, and I began to research what it would take to begin making these gorgeous works of art. As I was learning, I was baking and decorating for fun, friends, and family but soon began to receive interest from others around town. As the word of mouth grew, I got my kitchen legally registered with council and officially changed my direction from hobby to business. While my husband works full time, this became a great opportunity to stay at home with my little boys and still contribute financially to the household.

What I didn’t realise in 2018 was how much growth, creativity, and personal fulfilment would come through this little “hobby business.” I consider myself very blessed to be your “cookie lady” and am looking forward to another year of serving you beautiful and delicious biscuits.
